Banksia Tree Cafe

 Case Study.

Predominantly a brunch venue with dinner on Friday and special events every other Saturday, The Banksia Tree Café in Port Adelaide uses WOWAPPS for bookings, table side ordering, delivery and pre-ordering.

This relatively young café – it opened 14-15 months ago – owned and operated by Fabian and Halie Folghera, focuses on local, seasonal and sustainable produce and practices, along with native Australian ingredients.

“We use WOWAPPS in a number of ways,” Fabian says. “We use it to accept bookings through our website and Instagram, people can just follow the link to make a booking; we also use it as a table side ordering platform, where people will scan a QR code to open a menu on their phone and pay directly from their seat.

“This makes for contact-free ordering and also we can use their data at a later point, in terms of marketing. We’re still experimenting with using it more for delivery; but in the peak of the COVID pandemic, it was predominantly for delivery and meant we didn’t have to rely on companies such as Uber delivery.”

WOWAPPS also stuck out to Fabian because the app integrated with his point of sale extremely well.

“We use Kounter, I already sort of had a basic knowledge of how it worked. And honestly, I knew that I’d get really good support after having dealt with Shea previously.”
